University
of Arizona CatCard
Get your picture ID card ("CatCard") as soon as you can!
In the vast majority of cases, you can’t check out books,
make ILL requests, or use the library's electronic databases
or the Recreation Center without one. The CatCard center
is located in the basement of the Student Union. You will
need a picture ID and $25.00.
Distance
students no
longer get virtual CatCards since they have the first class on campus. The SIRLS Program
Coordinator can help you if you have any questions about this.
Anyone
trying to access Library databases remotely with their CatCard
needs to have your patron record updated every
semester with the Library for our system to recognize
you. If you've checked out a book during the current semester,
you should be fine. Otherwise you may not be in our system,
or your record may not be active. You know if your card
is not activated if when you enter your CatCard number to
try to access a database, you get a message that says "Sorry,
cannot locate patron record." Contact the SIRLS Program
Coordinator to get your card activated.
