en la tarde
by Anna Lash
solita
pero, no sola
hay sol,
el río
mis perritos
y musica del cielo--
los pájaros
rodéeme
cuando yo levanto mis ojos
yo veo todos esto
me siento tranquila
y a paz
hay un dolor de silencio mohoso
el agua sale
el calor difunde a través de mi piel
no estoy sola
estoy con nada
sin el aire del Dios
agradezco de él
y de mi
esta es mi lugar
soy encantada
de esa lugar
soy divina aquí
soy completa y feliz

Anna lives and works in Hayden, AZ where she is
the Head Librarian in a very small community library. She has been
there 8 years, and really enjoys the rural lifestyle and slow moving
pace of that Hispanic copper mining community. She hopes to graduate
in December 2003. She is a Knowledge River student and has really
enjoyed returning to college. Her daughter Julie will begin the
graduate program at SIRLS this Fall and hopes to also become a librarian
(following her mom's foosteps). She has been writing poetry all
her life and also likes performing poetry at readings. It is her
art!
