Welcome to the First
Annual SIRLS Graduate Student Symposium:
Student Perspectives on the Library, Past, Present
& Future
Saturday, November 12, 2005
About:
LSO, the Library Student Organization at SIRLS, is excited to sponsor this annual professional development opportunity for students. This symposium was created to give library students the opportunity to present their scholarly work to peers, SIRLS faculty and the larger library community of Tucson and Arizona.
Similar to many professional conferences, students will present academic papers that give voice to their perspective as graduate students on the world of libraries and information, what they comprised in the past and what shape they might take in the future. Presentations will be divided into three breakout sessions and attendees and presenters alike will be treated to a lunchtime keynote address given by Jessamyn West.
We welcome both students and those interested in attending to explore the symposium website. Please feel free to advertise this event by linking this page to your own website or posting symposium information on your listservs.
