An American Library Association Student Chapter
Like our parent organization, the American Library Association (ALA), we work to promote scholarly achievement and professional awareness among our members. LSO also promotes communication and interaction among students, faculty and staff within the School of Information Resources & Library Science (SIRLS). We organize a variety of events, speaker engagements, workshops and extracurricular activities. LSO strives to meet the diverse needs of local and distance student members.

What's New . . .

  • Special Election

The participation of SIRLS students is important to ensure that LSO reflects our needs and interests. It also offers an excellent opportunity to involved in leadership activities and get to know your classmates. New students are especially encouraged to get involved in your student organization. Please feel free to nominate yourself or someone else you think would do a good job.
